Actual subjective proof of brain lateralization, VIVE LE SCIENCE.

The dragons of eden, talking about the functions of the right and left hemispheres and the split brain patient whose corpus callosum was intendedly injured in a case of a severe epilepsy, the corpus callosum is the part of the brain that connects the right and left cerebral hemispheres, a condition in which it was finally available for scientist to lateralize different brain functions by a somehow complicated experiments, any way it was concluded what most of us know that the left hemisphere is reponsible for analytical and arrythmetic thinking, while the right one is responsible for pattern recognition; imagination and linguistic skills. In such patients the experiments were done so as to stimulate only one of the two cerebral hemispheres so as to define the limits of each in performing the several functions and the borders of lateralization. Why am I so interested in this experiment? By now its findings are already common knowledge, well I have a good reason, the left set of my computer headphone is broken for about 3 months now and I only hear things through the right side, I have this interactive french learning computer program that I have been using for about 9 months now, one of the exercises is to listen to sentences and write them, minutes ago before I start writing this article I was having this exercise and I was upset why am I not good anymore at doing it, I used to do it so well before, then the memory of the book struck me, and when I worked it out, I am listening to a linguistic material only through my right set which are mainly, but yet not exclusively, proccessed in the left hemisphere which is responsible for analytical and arythmatic skills and NOT language capabilities, so I repositioned my headphones with the curiosity of scientists at the edge of practically proving a certain hypothesis and now I am hearing the sentences with my left ear and processing the information in the right hemisphere, amazingly after hearing a certain sentence before with my right ear and not able at all to recognize what the heck is that lady talking about, after the first time listening the sentence with my left ear I found myself strangely typing down the characters and having a bravo by the background sounds denoting a correct answer, it is really strange(I listened to the same sentence more than 4 times with the other ear and couldn't type it), It is critical to mention that I didn't understand what the heck the sentence meant anyway but I knew how to type it right and from the first trial. What do we conclude from this story? that perhaps it is time for me to get a knew headphones to enjoy the full benefits of my french learning program also that scientific findings are almost always a coincidence of bad conditions and only one flash of the imaginative right hemisphere after exhausting the left one with tons of data and analytical problems.
