Fear

Some people may seem to be afraid and worried all the time probably neurotic, others may appear fearless and courageous. Fear originates from only one source, lack of data. For example, once I was sitting in my living room and my cat was sitting in my lap, I found that the cat rose up in horror and kept looking behind me, I noticed that some kids were playing down there and their sounds reached us, it was the same information that both I and the cat received, yet the data was different, I, due to more evolved cerebral hemispheres, which by experience, could tell that the sounds came from down, the cat instead didn't have this gift, it thought that the sound came from the window itself or may be the ceiling due to refraction, an information that could interpreted as the sounds of approaching group of noisy creatures who are unknown and are probably harmful. My cat kept standing up for a little while studying those sounds while I relaxed and continued watching TV. So next time you are terribly afraid of something and you notice someone around who isn't, you can conclude one of two things, this person is either indifferent or he is more knowledgeable than you with enough data to over see the reason to be afraid and be reassured in the pool of identifiable non worrying risks.
